VSS Writers

Hello All,

I am having trouble trying to backup my copy shadow components using Veritas 10.

When I select "Copy Shadow Components" it displays the error.

"An Error was encountered while attempting to browse the contents of shadow copy components. A failure occured while accessing the writer metadata"

The response from Veritas was that it is a Microsoft Problem. And no further support can be given!.

I tried to troubleshoot the problem using the VSSADMIN command line tool. My first job was to list the VSS writers, VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS, but it is blank.

Has anyone encountered this before, or got any clues as to why my VSS writer list would be blank?

I have also contact Microsoft and installd the HOTFIX for KB Article 913648 as advised by Microsoft, but still no joy.
