Hi All,

I am trying to install a Fax server on a OpenServer 5.0.5, the software is Vsi Fax latest version downloaded from ftp.vsi.com this week.

A long time ago i used this software but i do not remember how to solve the following problem:

When i want to use the vsimenu on the Xterminal i get the error

vsimenu: XIO: fatal IO error 22 (Invalid Argument) on X server "unix:0.0"

the command vsimenu -U user -H hostname gives the same error.

The software works fine using command line mode but i want to use the X interface.

Any ideas?

Is your server in fact named "unix"? And are you trying to use it locally (on the console) or from a Windows machine (in which case the software needs to be pointed at THAT X server) Tony Lawrence

I am working on the console but the name of my box is " linx01 ".

Well, the vsimenu is obviously trying to connect to the X server on the machine "unix" if you correctly reported the error.

It needs to connect to linx01:0 Tony Lawrence

I also have the same problem with vsimenu. I have the DISPLAY variable set to bambam:1:0. I receive the following error. vsimenu: XIO: fatal IO error 22 (Invalid Argument) on X server "unix:1.0"

How would I change the DISPLAY varible to it is pointing to the correct X server?

Hi, i talk with the people of vsifax and they say that was the latest version.

If you try the version 3 Gold that will work.
