VRRP Question 1

Hi List,

I have a question on VRRP. HSRP is also an option.
We are using static routing on our gateway routers.

I'm wondering if we implement VRRP, then how will configuration and router management be done?

When I add a new route, or reconfigure a port, which is quite common, then will this reflect in the backup router?
Or do I have to reconfigure the backup router manually?

If so, then how do I do this remotely?

Here's the Cisco doc on VRRP:

You can still telnet to the IP addresses of your routers.

The hosts see the default gateway of the VRRP router. It's not like 2 routers become one. They only add a phantom router as a service. The 2 routers are still unique.

Now does anyone know if an SVI interface on an HWIC can be used as a VRRP interface or do we have to use a router port?

seems like it can be done w/HSRP, but for whatever reason it does not seem to be supported with VRRP and Cisco devices.
