We have set up a VPN on an XP machine connecting to a
Win 2003 Server with Terminal Services (all to access and print from within one application). The XP machine has a local printer. What do we need to do so the user can print locally? The server has no printer and no other drivers have been installed on it.

Vendor recommended installing Windows 2003 print driver on the server but HP Desk Jet 5150 printer only supports up to 2000.

Any Solutions?

In your Remote Desktop Client on your XP machine, Options> Local Resources> make sure the Printers box is checked under Local Devices. That has always done it for me when using HP laser printers. (Personal InkJunk oops, Inkjet printer drivers may not share as well from my limited experinece with them.)

We checked it, but it doesn't make a difference, still can not print. Thanks tho!

UPDATE -- Downloaded a Win2000 print driver on the Windows 2003 server (a more current HP print driver is not available). The user can now print locally.

Thanks to those who offered suggestions.
