Hi

I have a W2K Pro desktop at home and a laptop running W98SE. They are currently connected using a crossover cable and I can use dial in remote access to connect to the home PC when I'm out and about.

Is it possible to set up a VPN on the W2KPro machine and connect to it from any internet connected PC or do I have to be running a W2K server?

If it's possible, how do I do it?

You don´t need w2k Server if u want to connect your laptop
via VPN(internet) 2 your Homestation.

Create a new connection.
Choose Incoming Connections (VPN or Tunnel).
Under Connectiondevices mark nothing (no lpt etc...)
Yes you allow incoming VPN connections !!!
Chose or create a "VPN" User. >> Ready
Under your new Network Connection > go to preferences >
than TCP / IP - Preferences ...here you can type
the ip-adress range your mobile system gets
after dial-in.

Ex:
212.93.0.1
212.93.4.255 (my ISP dial-in net)#

Without IPSec this is very unsecure !!!!!!

Hope i could help
