vpn solution

Can anyone suggest a reliable low cost/free vpn solution? I have a friend that has a very small business that he needs 2 family members to connect to to share files, which is why I am looking for something inexpensive, apposed to a Sonicwall or a Cisco device.

We use Pfsense. It is extremely reliable, easy to configure, and free.
