When I set up IP handsets I make sure they work when plugged in to the front of the IP Office before attempting to set them up remotely. Then if it doesn't work you know you are looking for a network issue rather than an Avaya issue.

are you sure that the ipoffice is 192.168.201 ?
if yes then did you make an iproute toi the gateway ?

yes, the IPo is 201 and i even creaed the ip route,i must be missing something

oke lets go step by step

phone = 192.2.0.100
callsv (ipoffice) is 192.168.0.201
port =default
router = 192.168.0.301
mask = 255.255.255.0
fileserver = 192.168.0.200
the rest does not matter if no vlans are used

i notice that router must be the router at the remote side
so it must be something with 192.2.0.something !!!

>router = 192.168.0.301

I do hope not.

The router should be the default gateway of the local site so surely it should be 192.2.0.*

that is what i say
i was just thinking out loud
the router part is not right but then it also would not pul files from the fileserver
so there must be something else wrong
maybe fixups in a cisco router ???
or ports blocked in the vpn router (there are people who do it)

The data side would appear to be there. But perhaps the poster is seeing the file requests and the phone is not actually doing any thing. After all it should time out and use its default .bin

You have checked the IP routing portion in Manager to ensure there is a default gateway set or at least a route to the remote site?

Hiya, long time listener, first time caller...
sounds like the IP route in the Manager config.??
an entry for 192.2.0.0 with the gateway being the router 192.168.0.301 and the destination being LAN1 from the drop down.. ? sorry just checking?
That private IP address makes me double guess every time i read it.. 192.2.0.X
And as tlpeter mentioned bout the router entry on the IP phone, surely it should be 192.2.0.X (whatever the remote router is?) or it would error saying "Bad Subnet" wouldn't it?
pretty sure there is an error if IP addy and Router on different subnets.
And you can ping from the back of the IP phone with ya lappy to the IPO Call Server? you won't without the IP Route happy??
This is all fresh as I just did the same thing yesterday!!

Hope this is of some help.

Cheers,

Chris
