Please ;
My company has server 2003 which networks through the business.
I have a number of people who work off site who need to access their outlook and pick up and communicate to base thgrough their laptops.
I have invested in Vodaphone data cards (3G/GPRS ).
Our VPN disal up is through a Cisco 501 Firewall.
My IT Support Company tell me I will never be able to get a secure connection through my VPN because we cant get a "public address IP".
And the only system that has " firewall Port Address Translator" is a Cisco3000 at an extremely expensive cost!!

My Telecoms provider say that it can be done and its easy and not expensive and tell me many businesses already operate with the set up I've described.

My IT support company are quite adamant it wont work.
I do not have the technical knowledge to argue the point but maybe you do!!

Please can you help me I'm desparate for a solution

Hi Paul:

Get your IT support company to read the link below (or get another support company <g>)

The Cisco Easy VPN Remote feature allows Cisco routers running Cisco IOS Release 12.2(4)YA (or later releases), Cisco PIX firewalls, and Cisco hardware clients to act as remote VPN clients. The Cisco Easy VPN Remote feature is now available on Cisco800, uBR900, and 1700 series routers, as well as Cisco PIX 501 firewalls and the Cisco VPN 3002 hardware client.
