Guys,

I am having trouble with a VPN connection to my workplace network. I know that everything is OK from the server side as several other machines can connect.

I can connect to the server fine and if I view the connections on the server, I am listed. However, when I try to connect to the mail server or map network drives, it tells me that there is no network.

I have tried so many things and as far as I can see there are no problems. The only difference between this PC and the others that dial in is that this PC only has a modem - all the other PCS have network cards and a modem. Also, this is the only Windows ME PC that dials in (although I do have a 98 pc that dials in)

Mighty,

I think we are going to need more info.

What VPN Software are you using on each end, does another OS work from the same location, etc.

blackviper,

Thanks for the response. As regards VPN software, I am using whatever comes with Windows. Just went in to the Windows Setup and added Virtual Private Networking.

The server is Windows NT 4.0 and again is just using whatever software came with windows.

As regards location, I am actually testing it from work dialing out through a modem. My own PC (XP) works fine but the one I am trying to set up doesn't. I am dialing using the same ISP and accessing the same number.

Does that help you? Mighty :)
