Hi,

I have an SBS 2003 machine configured for VPN connections. I have a remote windows 7 PC which will connect to the VPN fine and can access the remote resources. But, when I disable the "Use default gateway on remote network" setting so that the client can also access the internet aswell as the vpn resources, when I disable this option I can no longer access any of the remote resources. Doing some further digging I cannot ping the VPN server once connected to the VPN and I also cannot ping it by netbios name. However as soon as I enable "Use default gateway on remote network" then I can access all remote resources but cannot access web pages. I've had this working previously without issues but something has stopped working and I can't for the life of me work out what????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Paul

do a route print before and after you disable/enable this option on the windows 7 PC. you are probably missing a route... I am however not familiar with SBS 2003...

We must go always forward, not backward
always up, not down and always twirling twirling towards infinity.

It sounds like the default gateway the SBS server gives the VPN users is wrong. Check the stings once you have dialled in by looking at the status page of your VPN connection and see if the default gateway is correct.
