I am setting up a VPN phone 5610 with a Cisco ASA 5510. we get it to connect through the VPN but it gets stuck at HTTP:1 It does not timeout and search for the FTP files. It did go through once and then rebooted and is stuck searching for the http file again.

Is the 172.xxx.xxx.xxx address local to the Phone? Did you set the phone up locally before trying it remotely?

Basically whatever you set as the FileSv it will try and get it's settings from there.

yes we did set it up locally and that is the correct file server. the problem seems to be that it does not timeout from searching for the http file. If i remember correctly other ones we have set up timeout and search for the tftp file and then come up. It has been stuck on HTTP:1 since yesterday.

ive never seemed to get TFTP / HTTP to with on a VPN phone and always just used a local TFTP machine for the initial config.

Are you 100% sure you have the SMBE (IP Office) VPN firmware on this phone and not the CM version?

Please post the firmware level here...

I loaded the bin files for the vpn phone from the 4.2.17 admin disc so it should be the correct SMBE file. I cannot get into the phone to check the firmware it is stuck searching for the file. I am going to go reload the files locally and see what happens. It did go through once but rebooted and defaulted all the settings we put in with the text file.

It is working now. I found a wrong digit in the text file fixed that reloaded locally and it is now working.
Thank you for your suggestions.
