There are many helpful threads on this site - thanks. And, yet, I still have a problem connecting to our office systems using VPN over GPRS.

We have a cisco 3000 VPN concentrator. I can connect through it to our office network from a laptop via modem, even the modem on my T68i mobile phone.

I can connect my laptop to the internet using GPRS (again on the T68i) I can run the VPN client, and get connected to the concentrator, over the GPRS connection. (GPRS on the Orange network)

What I can't do then is get access to the office network. If I try to ping a server, I get the 'request timed out' message.

Does any one have any suggestions as to where I might look? Do you think it is a VPN settings problem?

Many thanks for any assistance.

I am also having exactly the same problem. I am using a Vodafone Remote Access card to use GPRS to connect to our network using Symamtec's Raptor Mobile. I have been in discussions with both Vodafone and Symantec who have so far failed to come up with anything. Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I went through a problem this an aircard 750. Talking to my carrier tech support I was told you could not ping an ip of a data device on the GPRS network(well at least theirs) Pinging the IP would cause a "destination net unavailable" or "Request timed out", Maybe the network is too slow to reply?? Or it could mean your behind a router that wont pass the packets. Hope this helps

Our central IT guys talked to the Cisco vendor and "enabled IPSEC over NAT T" now it works.
