vpn over a DirectTV satellite connection

I have a user who connects from several locations, all of which work except her home which uses DirectTV satellite. We are able to ping the vpn appliance successfully, but connection attempt yields an error message that says:

The host computer did not send a response.

any ideas?

I was unsuccessful at getting VPN to work over my satellite internet connection. Ping times were too slow. When I actually could get connected, working was so painfully slow, it wasn't worth it. At that time, their tech support said they didn't support the type of VPN that I was using (SonicWall). Basically, that some users had gotten it to work, but it was nothing they could help with. That was about 3 years ago, so maybe now they support VPN?? Check their website.
