Recently I have successfully set up a VPN on my Windows 2000 domain. I have only had one problem with it. Windows 98 home users are able to VPN into the network, but they can not map any drives in the domain. Windows 2000 home users do not have this problem. Is this active directory related?Any information you would know of would be great!.

Over all I have a feeling it is an Authentication issue, am I correct, if so what do I do to fix this?

thanks

I have had some instances of this problem involving NT4.0 Server with RAS as well so i do not think it is active directory causing the problem. Can the people ping the name of the machine they are trying to map to? If this isnt the case can they ping the ip number of the machine?

What i am getting at is it could be a DNS issue on the 98 machine when connected via the VPN.

What protocols are you using. Both client and server must have the same protocols to use RAS.

I can ping no problem (I made a lmhost and host file) so name resolution is not the issue. Protocols being used are "only" TCP/IP.
