VPN Mesh For SCN

Appologies for the rough diagram but should the VPN routers for a SCN be configured in a mesh as per above? I realise that the IPO's need to be in a star formation.

If this is the case, has anyone has any experience in configuring draytek 2820 routers in this formation?

The network does not matter if it is a mesh network
For the ipo 4.2 and lower it does but with 5.0 you can mesh it and is even supported

if you want "direct media path" to work properly you will need to mesh your VPNs

then create your IP lines between each IPO.

The drayteks are a doddle to set up.

Meshed has been included starting with v5. Just like tlpeter said.

Resiliency Configuration
A Release 5 SCN Network will now support a “Meshed” Topology as well as the “Star” network utilized on previous software versions. A “Meshed” network configuration would allow each 5.0 IP Office to have an SCN Trunk allocated to other 5.0 IPOffice systems on the same network, this allows multiple routes into the SCN and allows for alternate routes on failure.
IP Office systems with 4.X software will only support a single SCN trunk into a 5.0 SCN network.

A meshed vpn network has nothing to do with the ipo star config !!!

Your network should have routes to all other sites for the shortest route

A good network always uses the shortest route

The ipo must be configured as a star or in serial

If you call from one site to another site with ipdect then you will be happy you have done this

Thanks. The IPO side of things I am fine with, its the draytek that is causing problems.

I appreciate this is not a Draytek forum, but there are not any out there that are any good, and Draytek support is far from ideal.

If anyone has experience of setting up a mesh network on Drayteks, I would really appreciate some input.

The VPN links simply do not come up on a mesh, but only if I star out from a single site.
