Hello

I have been moved into the system engineering position and it has been placed upon me to create the VPN connections.

Since I really do not know much about this aspect I have been doing research and found several guides on configuring a PIX 506 firewall with ISPec but nothing on a Cisco 2651xm router.

Do I have to configure the router along with the firewall for VPN access or just the PIX firewall?

thanks

bob

Just the FW. The newer cisco routers have VPN capabilities. VPN's can be done on FW's or Routers but both would be redundant unless you have some sort of special setup. Special setup would be pix's vpn'd behind router to router vpns with allot of subnetting.

Thanks jdeaner

I have been trying now for 2 days and as far as I get is it is connecting but not authorizing access.

I don't know whats going on so I will continue to plug away at it
