Here's the scenario...

We have an ISA Server Standard with RRAS installed and running on the same box which is a stand-alone server running W2k Advanced Server. We have an IIS Server as a W2k Domain Controller running W2k Advanced Server. We've set-up the PPTP packet filters on ISA and Access Policies on RRAS, allowed Dial In access rights to users. Most of the time people connect via VPN just fine. But lately, when they connect the Web Proxy service for the entire network stop. Users can't internet access.

I end up restarting the RRAS service and that solves the problem until someone connects via VPN.

Any insight as to where to look for a resolution?

Assume nothing, question everything, be explicit not implicit, and you'll always be covered.

Hi MapMan:

I had the exactly the same problem before on my ISA box. To avoice such disaster from happenning again, you have to make sure every external IP on your external ISA NIC is published and valid from your ISP. Even if your IP is valid from ISP but you do not publish or use the IP, do not bound it to your NIC otherwise it will crash the routing table.

Hopefully this will help you.Good Luck

Hi Mike,

It turns out that the server needed a few swift (re)boots to get going correctly. All is well now.
