I have a remote office with 2 Vista Ultimate machines. I have ADSL 3mb at this location with a new 2WIRE 1 WAN / 4 LAN router. These 2 machines are using a VPN connection that I have set up on each machine and my guy at the remote location has established the connections there. At the remote location we are running 2003 server. My only problem is keeping the connection when both machines are VPN to the remote host. Both Vista machines are using remote desktop. WHen they are both logged on at the same time they cannot keep the connection. Constantly cuts them off and freezes up. When they are VPN one at a time there are no problems. I think I need a VPN router but was hoping I could get by with just the 2WIRE router. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks anyone. James T.

According to ATT if I set static IP on both machines problems should go away. Hmmmm. Ill try it but I dont know.......Still think I need new router. Thanks for the input.

It is likely a bw problem---3MB down is what...512MB up? That is 256MB up for return traffic on each vpn connection...

I have RDP without a vpn on a 756/128 and it is SLOW---that is with NO VPN traffic!

That is a good point burtsbees. I think we have 5mb though, but still a good point. Tried the static IP's today so I will see how that works for now. If it does not I have a D-link DI-704 that does support multiple VPN connections. WIll update. Thanks for your input.

Ok I am back again. This location now has switched to cable. Same scenario as of right now. I have 2 Vista machines doing VPN connection using Remote Desktop to another location. When connected right now it is fast and works with no problems then suddenly it will freeze up, drop the VPN connection and reconnect. Both machines are connection to a remote VPN server. Same IP address. I am ready to go point to point with this and be done with it but I am curious of some other VPN connection applications that we can use that are IP based. Any advice would be appreciated.

I wanted to add that both machines are set up for DHCP thru Time Warner supplied cable modem.

Okay---I am a bit confused on your setup...

You have the VPN server a Site A, and two Vista machines behind that server? Then a client at site B that connects to the VPN at Site A, then RDP's into a Vista machine, but cannot do both at the same time? Do I have this right?
