Hi,
I have two PCs. One is in my home and the other is in office. I want to use the VPN connection between them, but I don't know how. Can you give me the steps to do it ???

Virtual Private Networking
Windows 2000 Professional Setup
Checklist

Step 1: Click on Start, Settings, Network and Dial-up Connections.
Step 2: Double click on Make New Connection.
Step 3: Click on the Next Button.
Step 4: Check the button Connect to a private network through the internet. Click Next.
Step 5: Type in the VPN server address, which is, XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
Step 6: Check the button Only for myself so you are the only one using the VPN connection.

Step 7: Type in UR VPN and check the box Add a shortcut to my desktop.
Step 8: Ignore any Username that may appear and click on the Properties button.
Step 9: Click on the Security tab and check the Advanced (custom settings) then click the Settings button.
Step 10: Make sure that your window matches the one to the right. Then click OK and on the next window click OK again.
Step 11: This should bring you back to the connection box. Enter your Username/Password that you requested from UTD. Click Connect.
Step 13: You will see this window if you have successfully connected to the U of R.
To Disconnect just right-click the two little computer screens that are in the lower right hand corner and select Disconnect
