Hi,

I can connect to the server via VPN use the resources on the server. However, I cannot ping other PCs.

I tried tracert and the first hop is WAN PPP/SLIP interface which is responding, but after there is no response.

IP routing is enabled on RRAS...

Do you know what might be the reason for this?

Thank you so much in advance..

I tried both. If I use the host name, DNS translation is correct, that is I am getting the right IP address.

If I use ping I am getting request timed out.
If I use tracert:

tracert HOSTNAME
Tracing route to 192.168.168.103 over a maximum of 30 hops

1 47 ms 46 ms 46 ms 192.168.168.175
==> WAN PPP/SLIP interface
2 * * *

But I am able to ping this client from Server.

I dont know what I am missing...

Thank you

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : WAN (PPP/SLIP) Interface
Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.168.178
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255

Any thoughts?

Thank you so much again.

This is from SERVER

PPP adapter RAS Server (Dial In) Interface:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : WAN (PPP/SLIP) Interface
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.254.175
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :
NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Disabled

I just noticed that there is no default gateway on RAS server. Is this correct?

But IP routing table shows that the internal network can be reached from other phsyical interfaces...

Such as;
192.168.168.0 via 192.168.168.99 or 192.168.168.100 which is IP adresses of Server ...

I have the same exact situation. I can connect remotely and I can ping the VPN server itself.. but cannot ping any other server by name or IP.

I can ping all servers from the RAS server itself. But not remotely. Any suggestions ?

I had this problem and was able to ping when I added the DNS servers IP to the DNS suffix and checked Register this connection... You can find this under the networking tab of the connection > tcp settings > advanced > dns tab. Hope this help anyone.
