Hey folks, this one has stumped for the past few days. I'm wondering if I will have to resort to re-installing XP.

My Nortel VPN Client just starting locking up. Didn't make any config changes of any kind, so of course this is one of those wierd problems. Anyway, I've tried to uninstall and re-install the Nortel VPN Client (v4.65) and I run into this error during installation:

"The software you are installing for this hardware: Nortel IPSECSHM Adapater has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP.... continuing your installation of this software may impair or destabalize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future. Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo testing." [Continue Anyway][STOP Installation]

After hitting [Continue Anyway], rebooting... still locking up. I've even tried a System Restore with no luck. Finally, I even contacted HP support for my laptop... again stumped.

Any thoughts?

Not sure if anyone is interested, but the problem has been resolved. It turned to be that I had something spyware on my machine (new.net) that was the cause of the VPN Client not working. Removed that and now I'm good to go.

Thanks for posting the fix.I support many "Dangerous" users
that swear "I did not do anything".
