Hi,

Does anyone know of a way to prevent the VPN client connection from timing out after about 20 minutes? I need to keep the connection open for long periods of time, but whether the connection is idle or not it seems to timeout after about 20 minutes and disconnect. I've tried adjusting the idle-timeout value in the vpngroup settings but this hasn't made any difference? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks ----

Did you ever find an answer to the disconnect issue?

Thanks.

We got another PIX and used a point-to-point tunnel instead of using the VPN client. ----

Does anyone have a REAL solution to this problem?

I'm experiencing similar issues, but in my situation, it times out after only 5-6 minutes! PIX-PIX not an option, and I'd like to find a true solution, rather than constant ping...

Thanks.

Removing the idle-timeout value means that the connection should stay open forever unless purposely terminated by one end. If the connection goes down by itself, you've got something going on elsewhere.

I made the mistake just last week of removing the idle-timeout. I connected early in the morning before going to work and forgot to disconnect. When I got home, the connection was still active...13 hours later.

Something's going on with your network to disconnect you after 20 minutes...unless your idle-timeout is set to 1200.
