hello,

I have a problem with the speed of upload and download through a VPN.

My conection is 6Mbps simectric, for transfer a file of 800 MB take more than 1 hour, between the main office and the branch. The main office has 45Mbps of internet conection.

The links are a full duplex and the bandwith is all for the VPN.

What would be the problem?
thx

Thx for your reply, could you tell me how to check both of them in the equipment?

What application are you doing the file transfer with? Is it any different using ftp or robocopy?

You should probably expect the file transfer to take almost half an hour, assuming there is no contention from other traffic on the main office internet connection.

You should rule out errors on your interfaces - get on each of your networking devices and check the interface statistics for errors.

Check the latency for a large packet ping from your client to the file server.

I would guess you're using Windows Explorer to copy things, and there is a little bit of latency on yout VPN link which Microsoft apps are not configured to deal with. You can improve performance over a WAN link by adding to your Windows devices a registry key called "TCP WINDOWSIZE" - check Technet.

It happens with any kind of conections , using scp by line command between servers (linux) , winscp, or copy from one file to another using windows, upload or download,

My speed can not read the full bandwith of the interface for the VPN, (6Mbps), If i test the conection throught internet is very fast, but through the VPN is slow the transfer.
