Hi,

i urgently need a connection from an external Network to my company. I try try to establish this connection with a Cisco VPN Client 5.0.02.0090.

Cisco connects and claims, that he has establuished a connection (there are also arriving signals at my company).

But if I try to build the remotedesctopconnection to the IP of the server of my company I get the message "can't build the connection".

Afterwards he looses the cisco connection with the message:
Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client
Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding
Connection terminated - duration 2.40 min.

- With exactly the same settings it works from my flat with a normal DSL-internetaccess!
- The administrators here claim that the firewall is completely open for me!

Any ideas?

Klaus

what do the logs say? are you building a point to point VPN? what is the other device trying to connect?

Hey North323,

just as at home, where I get the connection to our company via a DSL modem/Cisco/remotedesctop I'm trying to get the connection here, just with the difference that I use the Internetconnetion of the network here.

the cisco log looks quiete well until:
step 26: The Virtual Adapter was enabled
step 27: Successfully saved route changes to file.
step 28: One secure connection established
step 29: Address watch added for ...
step 30: Address watch added for ...
step 31: Deleted all keys
step 32: Created a new key structure
step 33: Added key with ... Added key with
step 34: Created a new key structure
step 36: Assigned VA private interface addr ...
step 37: Configure public interface: ...

then he starts repeating
step 38: SENDING >>> ISAKMP OAK INFO *(HASH, NOTIFY:DPD_REQUEST) to "ServerIP"
step 39: RECEIVING <<< ISAKMP OAK INFO *(HASH, NOTIFY:DPD_ACK) from "ServerIP"

until

step 69: Discarding IPsec SA negotiation
step 70: Marking IKE SA for deletion reason = DEL_REASON_PEER_NOT_RESPONDING

then he deletes some keys ..
step 77: Phase 1 SA deleted cause by DEL_REASON_PEER_NOT_RESPONDING. 0 Crypto Active IKE SA, 0 User Authenticated IKE SA in the system

step 78: IKE received signal to terminate VPN connection
...

DEL_REASON_PEER_NOT_RESPONDING

make sure you are allowing outside connections into this peer may need a firewall rule or nat?

Post a config of the remote router. This is a remote access VPN using OAKley keys for phase one auth...
