Hello everyone. We are currently reviewing changing our 3 PRI out to SIP. We are running 4000v5; we are being told that we need to upgrade our PBX to either v6 or v7 because v5 is no longer supported. Question, has anyone used Vonage's SIP trunking? I can't seems to get a straight answer from Siemens (Unify) nor Vonage. Vonage is telling me that broadsoft said that additional testing is required but next came back and said it would not work.
Also, if we go the SIP route, I believe that we could continue using our TDM OpenStage 40 phones since the SIP will handle all the inbound/outbound calls. Is that a true statement?



Any ideas?

Firstly yes, the TDM Phones will work all the time, nothing to do with changing to SIP as a carrier.
That is the beauty of the 4k in that you can mix and match.
You need to keep the PRI Circuits, get a test SIP Circuit and set it up.
Test that out for a few weeks then change over fully.
 
SBCSU..thanks for replying. Since I do not have SIP service now, only PRIs, not sure how I can test.
 
Do not remove the existing working services until you have SIP up and running.
Ask your providers to provide a SIP service, ask your maintainer to setup a SIP trunk to that provider from the HiPath with separate access codes for test dialing out.
 
Hello all, I looked at our PBX this morning, I noticed that we have 2 STMI4 cards, both have LAN2 available. Could this LAN2 be used for the test with Vonage?
 
LAN 2 is a backup socket for LAN 1
You would need to have the ability to log on and see what trunks are setup.
 
i have installed with V6 and V7 both working fine with the service provider.
