Hello everyone,

I have got a problem with nsr 7.1.2 (Windows Server 2003). A lot of the volumes in the library are marked with "*", showing that they are not registered to the library. On the other hand these volumes appear in the networker mdia index:
-----------------
D:\>mminfo -m 800181
volume written (%) expires read mounts capacity
800181 2580 MB full 25.02.2007 0 KB 80 2000 MB

D:\>nsrjb -C 800181

Jukebox FSCCentricStor:
slot volume pool barcode volume id recyclable
182: 800181* 800181 3887709932
*not registered in the NetWorker media data base
---------------

Those tapes have never been removed from the lib.

How do I re-register the tapes and preserve the media index without using the timeconsuming scanner command?

Thanx for your help
Heiko

There is no other way than scanner if you do not want to recover (and overwrite) the media db.

After doing a inventory of the not registered slots with e.g.:
nsrjb -I -S 182
the volumes are now registered again. It seems that the jukebox resource got a little bit confused. This might be because of 16.000 volumes in one jukebox.

Greetings
Heiko
