I am constantly getting a 'volume had open files on it....' error when I start my computer. It does not seem to matter how I shut it down or anything. I have to power it off sometimes 4 or five times before it will load completely into windows. I have done a fresh install of Win but I still have this prob. It happens about 60% of the time when I turn on my computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

thats not a normal me error are you on a network try fdisk/mbr. it sounds funny your problem So long and thanks for all the fish.

No, I am not on a network and I did do a fdisk and reinstalled to try and fix it. This all happened when I upgraded my HD (added a 40gb) and slaved my old drive. Though, I don't think that is necesarily related as everything else works fine???

have you checked for a virus So long and thanks for all the fish.

You might try to re-"fdisk" the drive and then reformat.
