can someone give a quick run down on VoIP trunks? I have a 50 and 400 both 3.7 on the same network. I have 4 VoIP gateway trunks on both machines. I set the digit 3 up as a destination code and have it route through route 002.

I put the VoIP lines in pool B and assigned B to the test phone. Call picks up and hears fast busy when entering the 2nd digit of a 3 digit ext. Ideas?

All help is appreciated...

In Both BCM's how is your remote gateway set-up?

Ip Trunks>H.323 Trunks>Remote Gateway.

What is your gateway type and protocol set at?

on the 400- the dest ip is the the ip i use to connect to the 50 through element manager, no threshhold and QoS is disabled, type is BCM3.6 and the protocol is none. dest digit is 3 ( remote ext range starts with 3)

on the 50- the dest ip is the published ip for the 400 the GW type is bcm3.6 the protocol is none , no QoS and no threshold. dest digits are 2 4 5 (ext range at 400)

thoughts??

Protocol should be IPT.

Destisation code should be 3A
Normal should be set to delete 0

DN type set to Mine is National, doesn't work when I set it to Private.

i changed the protocol to CSE and while monitoring the lines i can see the digits outpulsed and instantly the line goes idle? wow so much for learning on the fly...

IPT will show up if connecting a BCM to a M1/CSE in direct mode (not gatekeeper routed/resolved).

In this instance, the gateway type would be BCM 3.6 for both ends, protocol type can be none - won't hurt if it's set to CSE, but since the full MCDN keycode set isn't installed it won't make a difference.

i am set as Biv suggest. however the calls never make it across, when the last number is pushed the line goes back to idle. man im turned around...

OK at one of my BCM's to call the home office we would program 4, 5, 7 and 8 as our Destination digits as our ext's start with 4, 5, 7, and 8. so from the BCM they would dial 8679 to reach me.

Under Call Routing
Routes 001 (my VOIP route)

Destination Digits
4A
Schedules
Normal
Use Route 001
Absorbed length 0

5A Sames as above
7A
8A

Dialing Plan
Private Network
Type CDP
Private Network ID 1
Private DN Lenght 4

in case anyone that helped cares, we found the issue. The next hop router address was not correct. With the correct address and a complete restart, we are in business. I can call from the 400 to the 50. Let the route building begin. Thanks to all that helped.
