We have remote office with about 20 people in it and we would like to set them up on ip phones. We have a S8700 with CM 2.0 running, multimode fiber between the two location. I would like to know if about out there has this type of setup and what equipment they use to make this work?

If your fiber connection has enough bandwith and all network is switched i would give it a go with IP hardphones.
We've done the same several times.

I assume you are carrying IP data traffic over the fibre - so VoIP (which is data traffic) will work fine.

I've set up 12 IP phones over a wireless 54 meg link. Works perfectly - so it should work for your fibre linked sites.

cheers

Can some one give me a heads up on the equipment needed to interface the fiber. also what circurit cards are need in the s8700 and do I need more than a switch at the othe site? We were going to go with a power over ether to power th IP phones. What i see is connetion the fiber to a clan card in the s8700 and the other end going to a switch. Need to know if this is it or are there more to it?
