We've recently had a single user decide to work from home 2 days per week. Management would like to set up a VOIP connection for her to use while at home so we can transfer calls directly to her as if shes in the office. They want to do this as cheaply as possible.
We have a Sonicwall TZ170 firewall using OS enhanced and an Avaya IP406 Office Phone system in our office, on her side she has a DSL connection and IP Office Softphone. For a single user I do not want to setup anything nuts, so I am leaning towards a simple VPN connection.

Questions :

1. Is this setup possible without a router on the remote side?

2. Is a 768/128Kbps DSL capable of handling VOIP?

You can hook up the phone without a router if the IP office lets you assign a public address to it and the phone can find a public address.
The DSL connection you mentioned probably could just barely handle the Voice transmission but might have a rough time if your pushing alot of data!
