We currently have a small remote site (12 phones) with a BCM50 connected to our CS1000 over MPLS but want to try to use DSL or cable to save on connection cost. I know QoS will not be honored when the packets start traversing the internet but I read that packet shaping and QoS over VPN helps.
Has anyone out there done this and how is it working for you?

- Thanks

I'm currently doing a Cisco VPN tunnel between two sites. One end is a 50/20 with multiple tunnels/connections so the entire 50/20 is not available. Other site is a 15/5 with QoS to prioritize outbound traffic over the tunnel/internet connection. Have only 2 phones out there currently and they do not have heavy data usage so it works beautifully. Both sites are using PIX515's for the hardware.

If you have any specific questions let me know!

We have about 15 ACD users running over a VPN link via 1.5 T-1 we don’t use Qos. No problems. Non mission critical users, we have been testing for about 5 months now, no complaints...

FYI,
seems like we get poorer quality over ADSL vs T1 or Cable.
Bandwidth is usually not the issue, latency/delay and dropped packets are more paramount.
