VoIP gateways w/ IPOffice

Please excuse my ignorance but I'm wondering if it's possible to set up a H.323 "trunks" to a VoIP gateway provider somehow so that we can cut down the # of analog trunks and save on LD & International calls (save $).

If so, any good providers that work w/ IPOffice stuff?

Or is it a better idea to think about a H.323 to SIP gateway since many VoIP providers seem to do SIP now? Also we have ~100 individuals around the world but they might have a SIP softphone (iconnecthere, vonage, skype, etc), hence my thought of a SIP <-> H.323 gateway so that calls are free. I'm not opposed to providing a single soft-client but I'd rather go with a service that the phone switch can use also to simplify billing.

I've read the tantalizing stuff about SIP on the IPOffice, but I'm not placing any bets on it.

I have a 406v1 as my main system, running 2.1(24) both places.

SIP will be available on the IP Office in the (near?) future but is no option right now.
You can use a H.323 gateway to connect to as VoIP trunks, this gateaway can be any brand if true H.323 is used.

Thanks for the reply. So that confirms what I thought - that you can use H.323 "trunks". I'm interested in someone's docs on doing this & who their VoIP provider is...

I have a US provider give me gatekeeper IP addres and account info for setting up outbound trunks.

However when setting up lines I do not see any area to enter account info.

Can someone point me to info as to how the setup is done? Thank You...

I don't think you can with the IPO. Doesn't the providor have to allow your IP address ?
