Hi,
Anyone know if its possible to pass VOIP calls to a 3640 with a BRI (WIC). I have seen many examples on CCO using BRI VIC and voice ports?
dial-peer voice 23 pots
destination-pattern 9123
port 0/0 (the BRI VIC) can this also be a standard BRI WIC.

Im hoping to use the 3640 as a gateway on a callmanager to handle external calls.

Thanks in Advance

Nope, need the VIC because of the DSP resources on it..

And the VIC has to be plugged into a NM-2V not the normal NM-1E-2W. The NM-2V has the DSPs.

Thanks guys, looks like im going to have to spend some money on my home lab, these voice modules arent cheap even on ebay.

If you are building a home lab i would go with two 1750-V routers (they come with 1 VIC slot) put a VIC-2FXO (for the PSTN) in one and the VIC-2FXS (for analog phones) in the other. Would not need anything more and would be much cheaper.

I have an extra NM-2V with VIC-2FXS in it if you are interested.. just laying around collecting dust. be happy to let it go fairly cheap. Let me know. jfrelin@nexusglobal.net
