We have an Eclipse2 phone system by InterTel that supports VOIP. Currently, we have a "regular" phone system and two VOIP phones ...one actually at our main location (it will be moving to a remote location in the near future) and the other is at our secondary location.

The main location has a T1 with over 700k dedicated to data. The second location has a partial T1 with over 300k dedicated to data. Both locations are connected via a VPN.

The remote VOIP phone has intermittent problems with connection. It seems to disconnect itself randomly throughout the day for short periods of time (maybe a minute, usually about 20 seconds or less). This isn't a big issue when it does it while it is not being used, but it presents a problem when it does it in the middle of a call (obviously).

I have checked all the settings I know about (which isn't saying much) and I've called our vendor, but they don't seem real familiar with the ip features either so I just get vague answers and lots of voice mail (I think they are now avoiding me). Needless to say, it is quite frustrating our remote user. Any suggestions ...PLEASE?

Thanks!

I am not sure even what rtcp stats are (sorry), but I have found an "average network jitters" under call statistics that currently says '2' (although the phone is not being used right now). I have looked at this before when in use. The phone at our main location (the non-problem phone) has shown maybe 1 or 2 here while in use, but usually stayed at '0'. The problem phone bounces around quite a bit, I can't remember how high I've seen it, but it was definately having more "jitters" than the non-problem phone. I had no idea what all that meant (and still don't) but hopefully you can help me out. Thanks!!

I have the udp ports the phone uses forwarded. The phone has its own ip address on the network and the phone board does as well. They are both set to point to the other. However, as far as diabling the firewall for voice, I am not sure what you mean or how to do that. Can you please give me a little more direction?

Thanks!!
