We are trying to setup VOIP to 5 other sites, we have it all working apart for one site, which when we dial from the BCM the monitor is showing the 4 digits of the ext being transmitted. The option 61 then shows the incoming ext as 6 digits where the original ext now has a prefix.

Strange thing is there is one gatekeeper all other sites use this gatekeeper also and they work, the one site that is failing can call back ok to the BCM.

Anyone seen this or got any ideas?

I am a wee bit confused. You have 5 sites and they are all linked via a option 61c. They can all make calls between each other and this is fine.

The new BCM can not make calls to the other sites but can receive calls.

Is is an option 61c or Sucession?

Can you post your gate keeper information?

Are the other sites BCM 3.6 or BCM 3.7?

How have you networked the sites? (CDP UDP)

Forgive me I am not a Nortel guy so here goes.

The option 61 is running sucession
there is a signaling server acting as a gatekeeper
the other sites already inplace are options 11's with ITGS cards
from the BCM I cann call any option 11 and they can call the BCM.
The Sucession can call the BCM but the BCM cannot call the sucesion.

Hope this helps

Do you have the IP phone and trunking keycodes installed on the BCM?

Yes we have, and I know that is correctly installed as I can call all other site from the BCM except to the sucession.

ARe you just 4 digit dialing the site with the Sig Server? Have you tried to dial 9+?

Yes we are dialing the 4 digit ext just as we are for all other sites.

Ok have you tried dialing other sites from this BCM by dialing 9+ the number, what do you get then?

No if I dial 9 then the ext I get the PST line number not recognised.

Here is some other interesting info:
If I dial 4 of the sites with 4 digit ext it works every time and the display on the handset shows just the ext number, e.g. 5678
when I dial the succession site (ext 1234) the display shows "1234>1234" then gives a constant tone and shows "equip congest"

I hope this helps a little further.

I meant to dial 9+prefix-number (9-255-5555) What happens then?

I can dial the full PSTN number no problem.

Then it sounds like something in your routing from the BCM to the Sig server. Can you 4 digit dial from the sig. server to the BCM?

Thanks for the tip, not being a nortel guy I dont know how to do this. would you know how I can do this or check somewhere on the sig server where and how the call is going?

Do you do the switch work on the Option side? If so how do you have that BCM site configured (CDP?)
