I have setup two users, they are not associated with a physical phone.

When someone calls the extension they automatically hear the greeting which we recorded and saved by pressing 4 so it plays in a loop.

The customer is finding that they are running out of time when leaving a message.

Any ideas on how to increase the amount of time for the recording?

Create a custom leave start point for the user with a Generic action that contains the prompt and then loops around on itself.

How long is the message they are recording? Are they reciting War and Peace in Dutch? The April session times for all Off-Broadway musicals?
I just ran a test recording in 'Voicemail Pro' and got to 162 seconds before giving up.

Indeed. The core is "what is the service they are trying to provide to callers?" as there may be much better and easier ways to do it.

Ya the important factor is how long is the message they are leaving and what is the function (is it more then a normal voicemail)? I had one customer who was calling his receptionist's voicemail and dictating hours worth of notes into her voicemail...

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

thanks for the replies everyone.

But the easy answer is open Voicemail Pro Client press F9 change message length

You probably should have done that first before wasting everyone's time...

That's an answer, but you've now changed the max message length for every mailbox.

Personally, you don't need any virtual users, just a voicemail module that plays a prompt in a loop and then direct your incoming calls to that module.

The way you made it sound was if you wanted to extend the announcement length against the mail box, rather than extend the leave message action timer.
Glad you got it sorted.
