Hi all,

Doing my first install of VoicemailPro. IPO is Rel 8.1.69 and VMPro is the latest as well. I have valid Essential and Preferred Licenses installed. IPO IP address is default for now 192.168.42.1 and the PC that VMPro is installed on is 192.168.42.10. They are both plugged into a simple 8 port gigabit switch.

I have Manager installed on the PC and can connect to IPO with no problem.

When I open the VMPro client and try to login this is where the problem lies. No matter what username and password I enter and what IP address I enter, it tells me "failed to create remoting interface" If I press the browse button next to IP address it finds none.

Am I going about this wrong? Is there a step\steps that I have missed?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Derek

Try giving you pc an ip address of 192.168.42.5 and plug into the 8 port gig switch. From manager go to advanced and select
VM Pro Client from there.

Hope it helps.

Make sure the gateway and subnet mask are the same on all devices.

Firewall issue or AV.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

For the Windows version you need to activate remote access after a fresh install in VM Pro by running the VM Client on the PC were the VM Pro service runs.

Hi guys,

I didn't change anything this morning. I just tried nrsman suggestion of trying to open from Manager -> advanced -> VMPro Client and voila! it opens and I'm able to dial voicemail from a handset. Not sure why it wouldn't open when I was putting in the direct IP address.

Glad that is up and running.

Hoping to get some guidance on Day and Night greetings. Customer has very simple needs. The day and night greetings will sound pretty much the same, just how fast they kick in will be different. The client wants similar to this "Thanks for calling ABC company. Our hours of operation are blah blah. For the Company Directory press 1 or stay on the line to leave a message".

Questions:

1. How do I go about setting up a separate Co. Directory Menu? Do I just connect Touch Tone 1 to another Menu and set up 1?? to transfer to extensions?

2. When they stay on the line to leave a message, How can I set up a General delivery Mailbox that could be seen\accessed by a couple of employees?

3. How do I set up a different Night greeting to play from 4pm to 9:30am the next morning on weekdays and play on weekends?

Thanks

Derek

Just to add to above. With the night greeting, I would like to have it pick up immediately when a call comes in after hours.

Day calls come in to the reception , which is call covered by another extension. If that extn does not answer will it automatically go to my Day greeting or do I need to direct it somewhere in programming?

Thanks again guys. Sorry for the questions but this is my first VMPro install so I want it to go as smooth as possible.

send the calls to an empty Night Service Fallback group with VM enabled.

Hi all, (Using VMPro)

I tried setting up a Condition editer today so that calls Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm will go to the Day menu and all other times go to the Night menu. I connect the Start point to the Test Condition. I connected True to Day menu and False to Night Menu.

When I call in on the main number or using my shortcode it goes to a factory message saying "please enter your access code".

If I remove the Test Condition and connect the Start point directly to the Day Menu or Night Menu it works fine.

Any suggestions as to why its not following the settings in the Test Condition?

Thanks

Derek

Check the test condition icon make sure there is no pin

I got it!

I just deleted the existing Test Condition and the Settings in the Conditions Editor and re-did them. Tested. Worked perfectly! Don't understand it. The settings and steps I did were exactly the same as the original.oh well

Thanks again guys. I love this forum!
