is the voicemail greeting/announcement file format the same as the holdmusic.wav?

For purposes of pre-recording the announcements offline...

This s what the knowledgebase tells me:

Here is a list of the named .wav files used by Voicemail Pro for US and UK English. These are predominately, though not exclusively, used for IP Office mode mailbox features and Voicemail Pro custom call flow actions.

All files are Microsoft WAVE file format (.wav) 8kHz, 16 bit mono.

Yes it's the same, kind of phony sound quality.
I am a fan of putting the hold music in the box rather than using another sound device.

format: wav
quality
sampling frequency: 8000 Hz or 8Khz
resolution: 16 bits
channels: mono

we used soundtracks of about 30 seconds long and looped it, the hold music is looping with some announcement of the week.
also vm prompts are recorded over that music, it gives a sense of continuity in the call attention process.
