Here is a stumper (for me at least). We have a Project Manager (John Doe) at our company that when a caller is transferred to his extension to leave a voicemail (or if it rings out and gets his voicemail), it is saying that name of another employee (Bob Smith) of our company but, when he "John" dials into his voicemail, it is stating the correct name (John) and he receives the voicemail that is left when being transferred to his extension; only it notifies the caller that they're leaving a voice message for the incorrect person. His voicemail states his actual name (the correct name) when he logs in, but not when people go to leave him a message? Any ideas?!

He probably has multiple greetings set up, Personal Verification, Internal, external and Temporary gretings. I will bet one of these has the wrong name recorded on it, most likely the Personal Verification. If he listens to the options he can recodr over it or delete it altogether.

I just logged into his mailbox and selected greetings, it gave me the option for primary and alternate. I selected primary, called and it still gave the same issue. I then selected alternate and it informed me that alternate had not been recorded and was not in use. I can log into CallPilot and see his mailbox, but it only gives me the option to hear or record subscribers name, and it is recorded as his name (correctly) but does not play so when someone goes to leave him a voice message.

I don't see anywhere in the mailbox prompts that would allow him to re-record or select a different recorded name, through his handset.

The easiest way to clear weirdo bugs like that is to delete the mailbox and recreate it. You can copy his messages to another mailbox and then copy them back to the new mailbox.

Thanks guys. That's what we ended up doing it & it fixed it!

There is in order Company Directory, Alternate and Primary.
I have seen some mistakenly record Primary under Company Directory.
Company Directory is only to state your name and/or Ext#.

Always best to delete the old and build a new when there is an employee change.
