i am trying to setup a cell phone transfer from a users voicemail. it is a 3300 4.1, embedded voicemail. when i call the ext # from a another ext # on 3300 i get the persons vmail, it say press c to transfer to this persons cell phone. when i select 2 it says the ext is not available. i have the number programmed as 9 xxx xxx xxxx. i can call the cell phone from any ext on system, so i know it is a valid number. i couldn't see anything that stood out in the class of service. any ideas?

i can't find where to check the cor at, under voicemail ports there is no option for the cor.

it works when i set up a speedcall to the cell #, but not when i put int the number itself. i have also checked the voicemail options to allow transfer to any number

I would normally set this up via speedcall as mentioned. Opening voicemail ports to direct PSTN access leaves it open to toll fraud. IMO best not to tempt fate.

The transfer to mobile will only work from a speedcall
This is to protect Toll Fraud
So you will need to program a speed call and tell your user to program the speed call as the mobile destination number

Sorry Supernova, I get to disagree with you for once. Speedcall is one way, but not the only way.

Assuming the COS and COR of the voicemail are such that it is allowed to transfer an call externally. This is a big assumption BTW.

You need to make sure that the VM ports have the COS option enabled for Non-Verified account codes AND that the COS account code length is the same as the digit length of the VM port extensions.

Sorry, I meant to address the Toll Fraud concerns as well. Typically the VM port can be set to allow only local calling but not long distance. There is no risk of toll fraud when set up this way.

kwb,
I know it was a big assumption but generally when programming vm ports it is important to restrict access to prevent toll fraud.
If this has been done then the only way to use the call mobile feature is via a speed call.

As snip81 is having problems with this and only a speed call works then I can safely assume that there is restictions in place.

@ Supernova99 re:"As snip81 is having problems with this and only a speed call works then I can safely assume that there is restictions in place."

Actually, as I was trying to point out, it is just as likely to be the account codes that are causing the issue. Speeddials are 7 digits or less and do not engage the account code requirement. So, no you cannot safetly assume that there [are] restrictions in place.

Snip81 - did you try 9-1-xxx-xxx-xxxx? I think you need to use 11 digit for long distance and 7 digit for local.

SNIP81- Make sure this is enabled as well on the VM class of service.

Public Network Access via DPNSS- Select "Yes" to permit devices to originate calls via DPNSS trunks to CO trunks. Select "No" to disable network access.

Public Network to Public Network Connection Allowed-Select "Yes" to leave a public network trunk connected solely with other public network trunks.

Class of service is under- system admin/system option/class of service.
