With many, many customers using gmail, and a major selling point of the IP Office the free voicemail to email even on embedded. Has Avaya created a way to make this happen without the stunnel business.

Not for you because you clearly haven't paid any attention to the new features in the last release. For everyone else, yes.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Hey, Sorry that I am crazy busy in my business. I try to keep up with all the changes and attend all the webinars, but Im on the road making money. My company has all of our IP office certs to maintain an Avaya Partner status. The Avaya sales is a small percentage of what we offer, but we still sell a bunch of these units.

This reminds me of a support call I made not to long ago to a company that does cameras and door access. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes I had a guy pick up and give me attitude. I said, wow stop right there! You are in the tech support department correct? You are paid to answer my questions without a smug attitude correct? Same thing here, if sizablebut doesn't want to assist with questions on a tek tips forum then don't comment at all!

Difference is, he's not being paid to answer your questions without an attitude. That being said, a quick search on this forum would have answered your question that gets asked on almost a daily basis. The answer is yes, you can, with r9.

To be more specific, 9.0.3 has a TLS option now.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I would personally be careful using gmail. I set it up for a few clients and it worked for 2-3 weeks. Then they all stopped working the same day and I haven't gotten gmail to work properly again.

Sizbut was unusualy sharp with you today that is not his normal style

IPO V9 does now support encrypted email but i woudl still question why businesses would be using gmail for their business mail

1) It gives potential customers the impression that you are a small one-man-band outfit without any significant backing.
2) your business communications are now outside your control & being handled buy a 3rd party who could change the rules at any moment (ie cease its free service or implement usage caps or even close down the SMTP IMAP access completly)

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Ever heard of Google Apps for business? Many many small businesses are using it as an alternative to hosted Exchange(which also isn't officially supported by IPOffice)

Yeah sorry for the small rant. I've just had enough this week, and probably need to relax.

I just picture sizbut as a nerd that lives in his parents basement eating hotpockets. The only thing he has going is to get some "pink" on tek tips, and I'll tell you his idea of getting pink and mine are totally different....

endlesswinter, sizbut was simply stating that if you check out the latest features on R9 it will give you the information you need.
You apologised for the 'small' rant but continued to spit a barrage of insults at him.
Shame on you. If you can't conduct yourself in a friendly manner then this forum is probably not the place for you.
Don't apologise for the rant, apologise to sizbut.
there, my rant is complete.
