I have to set this up tomorrow. I have programmed vm to email with an in-house mail server before but never with one outside the branch's network. I pinged the address of the mail server and got the ip for it, and I also have all the authentication information. Now if I set it up with that ip, the correct user name and password for authentication, and make sure that an account was built specifically for the mail-from address in use on the ip office, should everything else work just like an in-house server? Or do I need to build an ip route? The ip office will be connected to the LAN via lan1 with LAN1 set up as a dhcp client. But the mail server has a static ip.

We have the same sort of setup but with a VoiceMail Pro Server, are you using VoiceMail Pro?
If so then you don't use the settings on the Phone System, you will need to use the E-Mail Settings on the VoiceMail Pro Server.

You still need an IP route with the gateway address pointed to LAN1.

Not if you are using a VoiceMail Pro Server, as the VM Server will already have the IP Addresses set.
In our case, VM Pro is installed on a Computer on our network. As a result of this it has its IP Address, Default Gateway etc already set
The Phone System then has it's VoiceMail settings set to VoiceMail Pro. The VoiceMail Pro Server then E-Mails the recordings, not the phone system.

In our case anyway!

Yes we are using embedded mail. I'll try to build a route with lan1 as the gateway and let you know how it goes.

I set up the pop3 ip route and the ip office can ping the mail server but the emails are not being sent to the users. Any ideas?

Incoming server supports pop3 and IMAP, Outgoing supports SMTP/SMTPS. Is there any way to get this system connected to email?

Couldn't get the inmotion server set up correctly, used GMX.com email address and it works perfectly. That'll work for now. Thanks for the help though guys.
