Is there a way to change the email address used to send the email via SMTP with voicemail pro.

Currently it sends as the chosen name i.e. voicemail, rather than a real smtp email address voicemail@company.com, so the voicemail drops into the users junkmail folder.

If your talking about selecting the account settings this is already selected, it makes no difference to the email address smtp sends from.

One thing I didnt mention the voicemail server does not have a mapi client installed as it is an exchange server hence why using smtp rather than mapi.

I think there is a registry entry you can change. I have never done it but i read about it here once.

The registry entry is reflective of what is set under the control bit they speak of above.

In that field in the control panel put the fully qualified email address rather than just voicemail which is probably the name of the account.

I have the full address in mine and that is where it comes from.

Top man, I was always under the impression that this was a drop down list only so you could select the account from the profile list.

Have just typed in the full smtp address and works a treat.

result.

Andy,
I am not sure if I understood you correctly that you are using the excbahnge server for the VMPRO server? This is not actually supported by Avaya, unless things have changed recently, and the VMPRO should be on its own machine.

I it does not work he has to buy a server or deal with the trouble he will have
I would do it but won't garantee anything

I love it when the customer chooses to provide equipment which puts you in a position where you can set it up, and walk away. Since the equipment is not supported, you do not have to support it either, just set it up as you would normally if it were on a supported machine, and you are all done.

I do pre-inform the customer that unless the specs are met with the equipment they provide it will create an unsupported situation in regard to their system if any issues requiring support were to arise. In fact that if anything does not work properly the remedy will be to upgrade the equipment to a supported platform prior to any warranty service being made available.

Just to clarify a few things, the spec mentioned is my spec which sometimes exceeds Avayas for equipment. Unsupported situation includes support from myself as well as Avaya. Anything means anything which I can not walk them through over the phone if they have any issue. Upgrading the equipment means TIME AND MATERIALS CHARGES. Prior to Warranty service means me not doing anything which I do not want to do at my discretion if the equipment does not meet my spec. given in the quote proccess.

Also, I suggest in your original quote offer a discount on the VMPRO server to encourage the customer to take it from you, if they choose not too, drop the discount if they come to you for it later.

OK, so maybe I am not quite that hard in reality, but if they do not listen it should cost them, not you, make sure to make your money at your normal rate for their gamble.

anyone know of a way to change the email header

"IP Office Voicemail Pro Server (user@user.com)"
