Hi All,

I'm having a bit of a head-scratcher here trying to figure this one out. We have a Mitel 3300 system and we frequently use the option when a caller hits voicemail to "press 2 to be forwarded to the users cell phone." This works fine, however currently the caller ID that passes to the users cell phone is one of our trunks rather than the originating callers.

Any help pointing me in the right direction for this option is greatly appreciated!

Colin

The Mitel system is typically designed to do this by default.

It can matter whether you are using NI-1 or NI-2 but most often the issue is simply that the Telco won't allow it.

If you are using Telus, I would start there and ask them if the service has Call Screening enabled

Thanks for the feedback. I don't think I'm dealing with the Telco not allowing it. We use Shaw for our PRI. If it makes a difference, I do have the ability to change my outgoing caller ID for my users. We have over 25 DID's and I have each programmed so that the users DID diplays on the outgoing caller ID for outgoing calls made off our Mitel system.

Call Screening prevents the phone system from sending caller ID that is not dedicated to the site

You can almost always send a DID that terminates to the system

Quite often, and I am unsure of how Shaw treats it, they will not allow numbers that are foreign.

With the confirmation that you can send alternate numbers, I am even more sure that the issue is with the Telco.

If your cct is NI-2, can you tell me what the setting is in your ISDN Protocol for:

Replace External CLID - True / False (FYI you want False)

Here are my current form settings for ISDN Protocol:

Controller Module 1
Port 1
Link Number 1
Interface Type T1
Protocol NI2
Protocol Variant Bellcore
Network side/Q.SIG Master False
Enbloc False
Enable Unknown TON/NP True
Enable NI2 Service Messages False
Send NI2 Outgoing Name False
Replace External CLID False

Q.SIG Only
Fake Answer Supervision True
Enable Prefix Insertion True

>> Replace External CLID False <<

Ok have you tried a ccs trace to see what calling line ID you are sending compared to what is arriving?

Still betting on the Telco.
