Have a mlbx that has alot of new messages is there away to clear it out with out manually having to listen and delete each msg. The customer wants the mlbx to stay active they just want it cleared out. It is a Vmpro 4.0.18
 
On the VM Server, assuming its installed on C:\

Go to:

C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Accounts

Find their account, and delete the folder.. Restart VM Services, should be good.
 
Will we need to create a new mlbx for that user are will anything change. Will the user need to setup the greeting again etc.
 
Not a lot of point having voicemail if you just delete most of the messages, that's the best way to P155 the callers off.

no, just delete the mailbox under the Accounts folder. The folder will re-create it self as an empty mailbox. The greeting/name will still be there.

We run into this a lot actually. Most people use VM to email, no IMS, and they just listen to their messages via their computer and never touch their phone vm.. After awhile, you have people with 200 New Messages in their inbox.. Crazy I know.
 
If thats the case then go into the house keeping and set the new message deletion to something like 30 days and it will clear them out for you.

I would do that, but at this company, they are anal about saving things, so they like to have them all on record.. So I made sure new ones don't get deleted. Their nuts.
 
or set the voicemail to email option as forward,

Voicemail Email Mode: Default = Off
Controls the method of operation of Voicemail Email above. These settings are not used by IMS.

· Off
Do not automatically send a new message to the email account

· Copy
Copy all messages to the email account

· Forward
Forward all messages to the email account and delete from the Voicemail Server.

· Alert
Send an email message without attaching the Voicemail file. This may be used with Email gateways to Pagers or Mobile telephone Short Message Services. Includes the caller's Caller ID if available.
