Installed a voicemail pro on virtual server. Turns out the customer wants the the server moved by the managed IT company to a new host server. They are planning on 1:1 it with no changes whatsoever to the existing set up. The only changes that would occur would be a new network adapter card and new MAC address for the new virtual server. Would this cause any problems ? Would there be anything else to watch out when moving from one server to another ? This is not a reinstall, just a move.

No idea since you've failed to say what type of Voicemail Pro server (Windows or Linux) and what virtual server platform?

That said, the first port of call would be whatever tools the virtual server platform provides for moving a server image, for example Vmotion in VMware.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Of course, Voicemail Pro Ver 9.0.3 running on Windows (2008 R2 ?) virtual server. I believe the company used VMware but I can't say for sure.

As always, make a backup of all programming - worst case scenario you'll have to reinstall vmp and restore the backup but that shouldn't take too long if you encounter problems.

i've moved VMP installations between hosts a few times, all with VM Ware and haven't run into problems doing it, but one can never be too sure!

Good Luck!
