We are going to be moving our office to a new location and I plan on bringing our current phone system (IP Office 403) with us. We also plan on getting new server that will have Server 2008 64 bit on it. I shouldn't have any problems installing ip office manager and voice mail pro on there should i?

Also right now our Voice mail pro key dongle is a parallel port. I am going to assume our new server will not have a parallel port on there. What are my options there?

Software for the IP403 is not supported and won't work on a 2k8 64bit server. you can use a 2k or xp machine. No options for the parallel port.

is it easier to maybe move to a new ip office 500 unit then? just want to be able to transfer all my settings and licenses over from our old unit then 403

Yes i would go for the ip500 it could even be that when you move the ip403 and reconnect it again the whole thing stops and dies. It's an old unit and i wouldn't take the risk. I would do a clean install it faster and you'll get rid of strange settings, also you can swap the licences to the new key in the ip500.

make sure that you don't have any black 44xx series phones because on the IP500 they are only supported on the expansion modules and won't work on the processor ports.
Get a BP to do the work for you then you won't have an issue holding someone responsible should it go wrong and they will also move the licensing over.

we have a bunch of 4412d+ phones but we also have the necessary expansion modules to keep those working. any new phones needed we could just buy the models that are supported.

I am not sure how I would be able to swap the licenses...

What about setting up a SCN between the two ip office units?

You can setup a SCN between two units but remember that only one version in between is supported!!!
