I have a customer IP Office SE 11.1.3.1 that wants to manually set a mailbox password that is permanent and his users are not prompted to change when logging into their mailboxes. I think I know the answer to this questions, but have to ask just to make sure. Can this be done as an administrator other than logging into each mailbox and setting the password?

Not an option except if you create a custom menu for that users mailbox
I have never set the option of not having access to the password but it sounds intriguing

I looked just quickly to see if there is a way to get the messages without accessing the mailbox and having access to the password but was not successfull.

So maybe a workaround.
Create a shortcode so that they can record their greeting and their name and then simply send their voicemails via email without giving them the password. Then set the housekeeping to delete new messages after 30 days or so to prevent the mailbox from filling up to much.

These are group mailboxes for supervisors to check if employees are calling in sick. I think I'll suggest the User Portal for them to make it easy to check and save messages.

You can set your VM passwords in Manager. If you set up and use visual voice properly it won't ever ask for a password.
