Voicemail PRO Extrension with TAPI?

Hello, we have come to the conclusion that we need TAPI to get the extension of the reciever who pick up a call in real time. The issue is that we need to update a database in real time with the extension number of the one who pick up/answers a call.

I have a couple of questions regarding this.
We have clients who are on soft phones in a custom web interface and we then install TAPI on the server that runs the webserver. How can we make the clients webaplication communicate with TAPI to do the above? What is the step forward?
