Hi All,

I'm facing issue with AVAYA Voicemail pro in set call flow
as I have some Extensions with same number which started with 7XX and some with 7xxx
means 7 with 3 digit and also 7 with 4 digit, how I can set in VMP ?

if someone call from outside then how VMP decide the call should route to 7 with 3 digit or 7 with 4 digit ?

Thanks in advance.

You are supposed to use the same length dial plan on IP Office. You have it programmed incorrectly.
You can do a "press # to enter you extension", go to another menu with just $ as the menu option, and tell people to "enter extension and press # when finished".
Hope you don't have any overlap!

You might be able to do it with a timeout fall through. I would have to test it to be sure. I have used that method to duplicate a selection that over lapped an ext number. 7XXXX would dial the ext and a 7 with the time out would fall through timeout and transfer to the 7 selector code. Make the code 7XXXX and the fall through $KEY for the transfer. In theory it would dial the 7XXX if it didn't match a 7XXXX. But like I said. It is a theory.

@AACON
thanks for your reply !

Actually in my scenario IP Office is integrate with Microsoft teams and on teams they have all Extensions 4 digits, started with 7xxx
and on IP Office I already have all Extensions with 3 digits, some started with 7xx that's why I'm facing overlap in call flow.

I can route call to one desired extension(7xx either 7xxx)at a time successfully from VMP as I were tested, when call hit to VMP.

But I need help to fix both routes at a same time, like if user dial 7xx Or 7xxx call should route to that desired extension automatically as my voice file is already recorded.

Thanks !

In the AA, have a Touch Tone entry for 7??. Connect to a Generic that sets $CP0 to $KEY. Connect to a silent menu with a 2 second timeout and a Touch Tone of ?. If it times out, the destination is the 3 digit number, captured in $CP0. If the caller enters a 4th digit, the destination is $CP0$KEY

Frankly, life will still be a lot easier if you bit the bullet and renumber all the IP Office 7XX by adding 7000 so that they become 77XX. Manager even has a tool that will do that very quickly.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

... meanwhile, a Menu action set with just $ can be used to prompt a caller to enter the number they want and then press #. Save the number they dialed as $CP1 and then do whatever you want with it (including using Generic action string manipulation to check if it begins with a 7 and to measure how long it is).

But I have a horrible feeling that you have not told us the full scenario. Who is dialing what where? If its internal users dialing 7XX and 7XXX, then they are always going to get matched to the 7XX numbers before they ever get the chance to dial another digit. If its external callers what sort of lines are they on and are they passing through DID digits (in which separate ICRs can be built that match 3-digit and 4-digit DID.

Layout the full scenario and you might get more useful answers. But hopefully the amount of work will convince you that a consistent numbering plan is the easier route. If the customer complains, remind them that it will cost more and take longer each time they want something changed compared to a one-time renumbering.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

@ TouchToneTommy
thanks for your solution

as I tested your solation with timeout is working fine its goes to 7xx

but when I enters a 4th digit, means i want to go 7xxx is not working, its give me continuous busy tone.

I really Appreciate for support all of you guys, as I'm bit new.

Thanks
